Beyond Light Speed
The faster you go The faster I grow At speed of light My world, my home, All that I’ve known Takes flight. But you cannot see The ages pass by As you soar away On a sunbeam. To see it all, To visit the universe, You must let it go And embrace relativity. But what of the rest, Ever expanding? When faster than light, Does time take a nap? Or does it u-turn, to reminisce on it’s past? Somewhere out there Stars move away Faster than they should, Faster than light could, When seen from this window. What of time there, ‘Round that distant star? Does dusk become dawn? Does lunch precede breakfast? Is afternoon tea served at ten AM? And do they bid their adieus. When they walk in? Are they born to old age, And do they fear getting young? Do they leave where they’re headed, And show up where they’ve been? Beyond light speed, So far from us And so fast to flee, Do they stare out windows Through giant glass tubes? And where we see redshift, Do they see blue?Follow me on Twitter: @JamesLaMear
